DAD LEFT HOLDING BABY.

Byline: By MAGGIE BARRY

A COOL-headed dad helped deliver his baby daughter on his bathroom floor - 37 years after his own father did the same for him.

Ralph Watson realised time was against him when his partner Hazel, 27, went into labour unexpectedly at their home in Burntisland, Fife.

Ralph kept his calm laying out towels on the floor as he waited for the paramedics.

Baby Elise was born, on January 24, before help arrived, weighing just over seven pounds.

She and mum were then whisked up to the hospital and back within seven hours.

As he cradled his new-born daughter with Hazel and four-year-old son Connor, Ralph said: "I was just relieved she was OK - it wasn't until later that I thought about my dad."

Hazel said: "I remember telling Ralph we weren't going to make it to hospital and the baby was coming, then minutes later Elise arrived.

"He was amazing and totally relaxed. I'm calling him Superdad."
